Vreme odluke, informative program for refugees back on RTS

Specialized TV program, dealing with return and reintegration issues of refugees from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, residing in Serbia, Vreme odluke, was re-scheduled on the 2nd channel of the public service program, Radio Television Serbia, every Saturday at 12.10 PM, starting from 3 July 2010.

The UNHCR representation in Serbia has produced the show from 2001 through 2007. Programs have been broadcasted on Radio Television Serbia channels and over the years have had high ratings, because they were not only aired on terrestrial, but on RTS satellite channels as well.

The series came to its end in late 2007 due to lack of funds but eventually UNHCR had managed to provide additional funds from the European Commission and began creating a new series of programs, Putevi nade, with an excellent partner, the Fund for Aid to Refugees, Expelled and Displaced Persons of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. The program is still being broadcast on the second public service, Radio Television Vojvodina, Sundays at 10.30 AM, on RTV's first channel.

In order to provide timely information to the refugee population regarding possibilities that are available for a permanent solution to the refugee problem, adopted by all four participating countries- Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, UNHCR, has launched, with the help of European Commission's funds, a series of programs to deal with this issue.

The public service of Radio Television Serbia was kind enough to provide a time sloth for Vreme odluke.

The name of the show, Vreme odluke was kept, because it was already well-known and well-received among the audience. The program's concept includes latest important news for the refugee population, mostly service-wise, legal advices on a specific topic featuring relevant experts, stories about people from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, interviews with representatives of organizations and institutions, governments and partners involved in resolving displacement issues in the region.
